Some facts about dental implants:

  1. A dental implant can be placed in 1 appointment. In some cases, at the same time a broken or bad tooth is removed.

  2. A single dental implant can replace one tooth.

  3. If multiple teeth are missing, multiple implants can be placed.

  4. If all teeth are missing or need to be replaced in a single arch (upper or lower), 4 to 6 implants can be used to replace all missing teeth.

  5. If you have a denture or partial denture, implants can be used as support and fix the denture or partial in place.

  6. You will never be without a front tooth - temporary teeth can be made until the permanent crown is ready.

**What is a dental implant?

A titanium dental implant can be used to permanently replace a missing tooth.  The tooth cannot be removed and you can easily floss around the tooth to keep it clean.  Titanium implants can also be combined to replace multiple missing teeth. Dental implants have 3 parts to them: (1) The implant - it replaces the root of the tooth and is under the gums (2) The abutment - it is screwed into the implant like a post (3) The crown - this is placed on the abutment and serves as the replacement tooth.

**How much is a dental implant?

A single tooth dental implant and extraction costs $2999. This includes:

  • All necessary xrays and CT scans

  • Removal of a broken, failing or bad tooth

  • Any bone grafting and membranes that may be necessary

  • Placement of the implant

  • Permanent placement of the abutment and metal-free porcelain cosmetic crown

**What if I only need the implant and no tooth removal or bone grafting?

A single tooth implant costs $2499. This includes:

  • All necessary xrays and CT scans

  • Placement of the implant

  • Permanent placement of the abutment and porcelain cosmetic crown

**What if I need to replace all my teeth?

We have different solutions for patients that require replacement of all teeth in the jaw.  The costs to replace a full arch of teeth (upper or lower) ranges from $8,999 to $25,000 depending on the situation.

**What is the healing and recovery like?

The dental implant procedure is less invasive than tooth removal.  Most patients experience mild discomfort for 1-2 days that can be comfortably controlled with over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or Tylenol.  Usually an implant placed toward the back of the mouth is left to heal comfortably while dental implants placed in the front or cosmetic zone have different options for temporary teeth until the implant heals. You will never be without teeth!
